Our Impacts
Programs under the ELCT CW
- Good Governance and Gender Justice Programs
The ELCT is implementing several projects aiming at eliminating gender gaps, human rights including sexual reproductive and health while ensuring good governance is enhanced at all levels. These programs include the following:
- Enhancing Governance and Gender Rights in Manyara, Arusha, Kilimanjaro and Singida Regions
- Faith Based Approaches to eliminating FGM/c in Manyara, Dodoma and Arusha Regions
- Gender Justice
- Vunja and Vunjeni Ukimya
Through these programs beneficiaries who may involve faith leaders, women and youth, teen mothers, women parliamentarians, and men; are trained to advocate for human rights (sexual reproductive and health rights-Vunja and Vunjeni Ukimya), eliminating FGM/c (for FGM/c project), Enhancing good governance while ensuring gender rights is attained (Enhancing Governance and Gender Rights) as well as ensuring gender justice is strengthened at all spheres of life (Gender Justice Program).

- Sustainable Economic Empowerment Programs
The ELCT through Sustainable Livelihoods and Economic Empowerment Program (SLEP) is facilitating households and communities to attain sustainable livelihoods focusing mainly on gender empowerment through addressing the economic gap between men and women in rural areas in particular. The overall goal is overall program goal is to reduce poverty experienced by households in rural subsistence farming communities in lake, central & southern zones Tanzania.

- Leadership and Capacity Buildings Program
Leadership program focuses on equipping Church leaders such as Bishops, Assistants to the Bishops, General Secretaries, and staff including top management and others cadres with different thematic skills and knowledge including conflict management and resolution, leadership and governance, team building in workplace, projects development, management, monitoring and evaluation, gender among others. Generally this program aims to enhance leaders and staff to improve their performance and eventually improve operational efficiency and unity for a sustainable Church growth.

- Rapid Response Programs
The Church responds to any emerging disasters or diseases such as floods, drought or COVID-19 respectively through its rapid response program. As a way of responding, the Church provides food items such as floor, cooking oil, beans, mattresses, vegetable seeds as well as PPEs such as masks, sanitizers whenever needed in the most affected areas.
